Gordon James, President
Gordon James is President of the Board of Directors for Native Strategies. As a consultant and trainer for more than 22 years, colleagues, community organizations, and government agencies recognize Gordon as a “world-class human development educator.” Gordon educates audiences using wit and laughter to teach key leadership skills and strategies for achieving successful personal and professional relationships.
An accomplished writer and co-author of the book Coming Together in a Good Way and three successful culture-based curriculums 7 Journeys to Us, Leading the Next Generations, and Government to Government. Gordon has worked with numerous government agencies, hundreds of tribes, and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States, Canada, and the Territory of Guam.
In addition to leading Native Strategies, Gordon and his wife Pam manage Culture to Culture – a consulting company providing training and technical assistance in Government to Government relations for employees of the State of Washington, school districts, and municipalities, among others. Gordon served eight years as Chairman of the Skokomish Tribal Council, and on the Board of Directors for various nonprofit organizations. Currently, Gordon is a member of the Skokomish Gaming Commission.
As a “practice what you teach” advocate, Gordon’s been happily married to Pam James for 27 years, is the father of four creative children, and is a commercial diver in his spare time. Gordon is a member of the Skokomish Tribe and lives in Washington State.
